Job summary

Capital One’s Enterprise Platforms Technology group seeks a Full-Stack Engineer 4 to drive a portfolio of projects using Java, Python, and modern frontend tech. You’ll operate in a cloud-first environment, collaborating across teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions that support millions of customers.

You’ll work with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and a mix of Open Source tools, shaping architecture, APIs, and CI/CD practices while mentoring peers and contributing to long-term technology strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with distributed microservices experience.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with tech trends.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions for wide user impact.
• Utilize Java, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript and multiple databases.
• Provide technical leadership and set standards for design, development, and operations.
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects.
• Refactor to reduce technical debt and boost performance.
