Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer 4 to drive core cloud operations resilience. You’ll lead diverse microservice teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud solutions for millions of customers.

Required: 4+ years in software engineering, 2+ years on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Preferred: 7+ years in Go/Python, 4+ years AWS, strong API experience, and frontend JS/TS skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• 7+ years of experience coding with Go or Python (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience with AWS (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience with front‑end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs (preferred).
• Experience leveraging observability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
• Mentor engineers, participate in internal and external tech communities, and stay current with new technologies
• Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions for users
• Utilize Python, Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, networking services and AWS tools
• Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set standards for design, development and operational excellence
• Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns and reusable frameworks
• Identify areas for improvement and reduce technical debt through refactoring
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a 'you build it, you own it' environment
