Job summary

Capital One is seeking a full-stack Software Engineer to drive a major transformation across the company. You’ll provide technical leadership, design and implement cloud-native, distributed systems, and partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps.

The role requires hands-on coding across Python/Go/Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with AWS. You’ll mentor teams, improve engineering standards, and own critical performance initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
At least 6 years of software engineering experience
At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or virtualization technologies
Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading engineering initiatives

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and complex projects
Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems
Collaborate with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and integration patterns
Establish engineering standards for design, development, and operations
