Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer 5 to lead and shape the technical direction of large-scale, cloud-native systems. You will collaborate with architects, product leaders and multiple teams, driving reliable, high-performance solutions using Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript on AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.

You’ll mentor engineers, influence enterprise standards, and champion AI-powered tooling and modern development practices in a hybrid environment based in McLean, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related quantitative field required.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience; internship excluded.
• 3+ years of public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across teams and complex projects.
• Design and implement large-scale, distributed or cloud-native systems.
• Use Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript across stacks.
• Partner with architects to define roadmaps and service boundaries.
• Establish engineering standards for design, development and ops.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-team architectural reviews.
