Job summary

Boys Town is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support modern full stack web applications. You will work across front-end and back-end technologies, lead technical design, build and maintain APIs, and collaborate to deliver secure, scalable user experiences.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, testing, documentation, and adherence to OWASP, OAuth2, and JWT security practices while coordinating with vendors and stakeholders to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated full-stack ownership.
• Experience with headless content management systems.
• Shell scripting in Linux or Windows environments required.
• Experience delivering enterprise applications through the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.

Responsibilities

• Leads the technical design and development of complex full-stack web applications.
• Leads the team in coding standards, code reviews, and documentation expectations.
• Designs and maintains relational and non-relational databases for data integrity and performance.
• Contributes to CI/CD strategy, automated testing, and code repository branching.
• Builds and maintains APIs and integrates third-party services and open-source tools.
• Writes unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as a standard practice.
• Collaborates with UX/design, product, and stakeholders to deliver accessible experiences.
• Applies security best practices (OWASP, OAuth2, JWT) across the stack.
• Monitors production systems, responds to incidents, and performs root-cause analysis.
• Coordinates project activities with staff, vendors, and users to meet objectives.
• Develops and maintains high customer satisfaction while collaborating with teams.
• Cultivates data for business insights via reporting tools.
