Job summary

Capital One is seeking a high-impact Full Stack Engineer 4 to help drive a major transformation across Capital One. You will lead diverse tech projects, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans.

You will work with Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and AWS services, while upholding design and operational excellence in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor engineers and participate in internal & external technology communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Utilize Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and various DBs; leverage Docker, Kubernetes and AWS services.
• Provide technical leadership and direction across Agile teams, setting standards for design and operations.
• Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
• Identify areas for improvement, refactor, and reduce technical debt to enhance performance.
• Influence long-term technology strategy in a 'you build it, you own it' environment.
