Job summary

Navitas Business Consulting in McLean, VA is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to lead the migration from Java/Spring Boot to Python frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, and Flask. You will design, build, and scale services across both stacks during the transition.

Ideally, you bring 7–10 years of backend experience, deep Java knowledge, and strong Python skills to deliver secure, cloud-native REST APIs and microservices, with PostgreSQL and AWS CI/CD pipelines driving deployments.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of backend development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java + Spring Boot.
• Experience with Python and Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with test automation (PyTest, JUnit, Selenium, etc.).
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work on existing backend services built in Java + Spring Boot.
• Lead the transition to Python frameworks (Django / FastAPI / Flask).
• Build scalable REST APIs and microservices in Java and Python during migration.
• Design and optimize database schemas using PostgreSQL.
• Implement and maintain AWS CI/CD pipelines for deployments.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks for Java and Python.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps, QA, and product teams.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across both stacks.
• Ensure best practices in security and cloud-native development.
