Job summary

Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC seeks an experienced Sr / Lead Engineer to modernize and support core investment platforms in NYC. You will drive full stack delivery, design scalable APIs, and manage AWS-based infrastructure while collaborating with global stakeholders across investment technology and operations.

You will lead a team, enforce SDLC standards, and partner with business and product teams to translate requirements into technical plans and delivery milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a lead role.
• Strong full-stack development with modern JavaScript stacks (React/Angular) and backend (Java/.NET/Python) plus SQL.
• Hands-on AWS architecture and services experience; proficiency with CI/CD tools.
• Strong API development, testing, and cross-functional delivery leadership.

Responsibilities

• Drive full stack development across cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
• Design scalable APIs with security, monitoring, and logging.
• Develop rich UI components using React or Angular.
• Manage AWS infrastructure components and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own production environment and collaborate with business teams on requirements.
• Interface with vendors for integrations and automation opportunities.
• Lead design discussions, governance, and documentation for development efforts.
• Ensure code is unit tested and oversee QA and production release processes.
• Mentor and lead a development team and maintain asset health and security.
• Perform annual asset health assessments and drive improvements.
