Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with leadership on multiple projects.
• Strong React/Next.js experience and modern web app delivery.
• Proven ability to create modern, performant browser visualizations.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, GraphQL, REST APIs and database design.
• Experience with Craft CMS and backend services in Python.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of full-stack implementation of EPO web products.
• Lead frontend development from concept to release, including UX collaboration.
• Drive frontend architecture and technical direction with the team.
• Partner with UI/UX designers to realize accessible, user-friendly designs.
• Build interactive data visualizations that convey astronomical data to non-experts.
• Address tech debt and performance optimization; ensure WCAG compliance.
• Contribute to automated testing and documentation; perform code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
