Job summary

Fidelity Investments in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced software engineer to partner with quantitative research and investments teams to design and maintain a Systematic Alternatives portfolio construction and management system. You will contribute hands-on development alongside a team of researchers and engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS or related field, 7+ years in financial services, strong knowledge of system architecture, Python or Java, SQL, AWS, CI/CD, and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computational field such as Computer Science.
• Minimum of 7 years of proven professional experience in financial services.
• Strong experience in system architecture, design patterns and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with Python or Java and micro‑services / RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with SQL databases (Oracle, Snowflake).
• Experience working on AWS cloud environment.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps.
• Experience integrating financial data with Angular UI.
• Exposure to test automation frameworks (unit and integration).
• Demonstrated experience with portfolio construction and management is a plus.
• Nice to have experience with derivatives and financial instruments such as Futures, IRS, TRS, FX forwards.
• Proven ability to capture requirements and formulate plans by partnering with stakeholders.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills to influence decisions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the quant research and investments teams to design, build, enhance, and support a comprehensive Systematic Alternatives portfolio construction and management system.
• Include hands-on development collaborating with a team of quantitative researchers, software engineers, and quantitative developers.
