Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer for Emerging Products in San Francisco. You will own 0-to-1 projects, build interfaces and backend systems for rapid experiments, and partner with design, product, and research teams to drive new experiences from concept to launch.

You’ll combine strong frontend skills with backend depth, working autonomously in a fast-paced environment to move ideas quickly from prototype to scalable product. This role is fully on-site in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Track record of building and shipping end-to-end products in fast-moving environments.
• Strong frontend engineering skills with backend and systems depth for sound architectural decisions.
• Pair product intuition with evidence from user research and product data.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship high-quality product experiments across the full stack.
• Turn ambiguous user needs and emerging tech into testable product concepts using research and metrics.
• Own technical direction for 0-to-1 projects from prototype to scalable product.
• Collaborate with design, product, research, and engineering to test, launch, and transition experiments.
