Job summary

OpenAI’s Product Explorations team is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer based in San Francisco to translate new model capabilities into impactful user experiences. You will own end-to-end product explorations, prototyping quickly and validating ideas with cross‑functional partners across research, applied, design, and data science.

You will identify high‑leverage opportunities, move from idea to prototype to production, and drive decisions in ambiguous environments.

Qualifications

Experience building and shipping full stack product experiences from prototype to production.
Strong product intuition and ability to identify what matters for users and business.
Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments and drive initiatives.

Responsibilities

Identify and pursue high-leverage product and technical opportunities across OpenAI’s products
Move quickly from idea to prototype, validation, launch, and iteration
Build full stack product experiences that unlock value from new model capabilities
Work closely with Research, Applied, product, design, data science, and engineering partners
Use user feedback, product signals, and experimentation to determine which ideas should scale
Drive alignment across teams and help shape a culture of speed, ownership, curiosity, and thoughtful experimentation
