Job summary

Capital One Lead Software Engineer role focuses on directing a portfolio of distributed microservices and full-stack systems to meet regulatory needs and deliver cloud-based customer experiences.

You will work with JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes with AWS/GCP/Azure while mentoring engineers and driving Capital One's transformation agenda.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Preferred: Master’s degree and 7+ years in core languages.
• Experience with Agile practices and open source tooling is a plus.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring engineers is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers.
• Mentor engineers and participate in tech communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
