Job summary

VibeIQ Inc. in Boston seeks a Sr. Full Stack Engineer (Backend) to join the Core Apps team. You will own backend services, design APIs, and run them on AWS, while collaborating with frontend work in Angular or React.

This hybrid role requires 5+ years building production backends in TypeScript/Node.js, strong data modeling, and a bias for reliable, scalable systems. You’ll mentor peers, contribute to design reviews, and help improve CI, testing, and overall engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and running production backend services with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and event-driven services such as SQS/SNS.
• A track record of API design and data modeling in reliable, high-traffic systems.
• Working proficiency in a modern frontend framework, Angular preferred or React.
• Strong debugging skills in distributed systems with ability to design cross-stack fixes.
• Clear technical writing: design docs, runbooks, decisions easily acted on.
• Proactive communication and willingness to mentor others.
• Startup mentality: ownership, fast iteration, and multi-hat involvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the backend services behind our core apps.
• Run those services on AWS and ensure reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Build AI-assisted generation features and the services that support them.
• Own features end-to-end, including Angular work when needed.
• Model data for large catalogs and multi-tenant workloads, keeping pace with growth.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define and build.
• Diagnose and fix production issues across distributed systems.
• Improve code quality, reviews, CI, and testing processes.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and raise technical bar.
• Collaborate with teams across VibeIQ to improve product and engineering practices.
