Job summary

Stout is seeking a seasoned software engineer to own full-stack features and contribute to an AI-enabled platform used by consultants. You will ship frontend and backend components, own data pipelines or services, and work on the LLM-backed core including extraction, retrieval and chat capabilities.

You will leverage AI coding agents while writing robust code and tests to ensure safe, high-quality deliveries.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software engineering across the full stack, producing and running systems in production.
• Experience with frontend, backend, APIs, data stores, and background processing.

Responsibilities

• Ship frontend and backend features from refined requirements to production.
• Own areas of the platform such as a data pipeline, a service, or a UI component.
• Work on the LLM-backed core of the product including extraction, retrieval, chat and content generation.
• Use AI coding agents as a core part of development: plan tasks, review agent output, and write code by hand when faster or safer.
• Build tests, evals and checks to verify AI-assisted changes are safe to ship.
