Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer 5 to drive AI automation initiatives across Global Workforce Services. You will lead distributed microservices, design real-time interfaces with Next.js/React, and build resilient APIs using Python, Node.js, and cloud platforms.

You will mentor engineers, champion modern AI/ML tooling, and partner with product leaders to align platform roadmaps with business needs in a hybrid-capable environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Frontend development with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS.
• Backend: Python/FastAPI, Node.js/TypeScript, with SSE and WebSockets for real-time AI responses.
• Integrate AI agent capabilities into enterprise systems via tool-calling and function-calling paradigms.
• Architect and integrate heterogeneous AI systems into unified production pipelines.
• Mentor other engineers and collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
