Job summary

Ellipsis Health is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale core systems powering our conversational AI in healthcare. You will work across TypeScript-based backend services and modern frontend apps, collaborating with AI/ML engineers, product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver secure, reliable solutions for healthcare.

We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area but open to remote candidates within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional full-stack experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript backend and API development.
• Experience building frontend apps with React and Redux.
• RESTful APIs and GraphQL design/consumption.
• Microservices architectures and distributed systems understanding.
• Cloud platforms and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features across TypeScript-based backend services and frontend apps.
• Architect scalable APIs and microservices for conversational AI workflows.
• Build and evolve React/Redux frontends focusing on usability and performance.
• Own production services, including deployment, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
• Design database schemas and data pipelines for structured/unstructured healthcare data.
• Ensure secure integrations with healthcare systems and external platforms.
• Implement authentication/authorization and IAM (e.g., Zitadel).
• Maintain HIPAA/FHIR compliance across the stack.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and observability for production services.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
