Job summary

Kira Learning is seeking a seasoned software engineer to own end-to-end product features for students and teachers. You will collaborate with product managers and designers to translate goals into pragmatic implementation, and help shape frontend and backend directions.

The role requires strong React and TypeScript skills, backend experience, mentoring, and comfort in a fast-growing startup. We offer competitive compensation, health insurance, flexible PTO, and Doordash lunch credits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong React and TypeScript with production features.
• Experience with CSS tools like Tailwind/SCSS.
• Backend experience in Kotlin/Python/Go/Rust/Scala.

Responsibilities

• Own and ship end-to-end product features for students and teachers.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on UX and visuals.
• Shape frontend and full-stack direction, translating goals into plans.
• Improve quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Contribute across prototyping, testing, rollout, and support.
• Collaborate to design APIs and deliver cohesive solutions.
