Job summary

Samba TV is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join its San Francisco team. This role spans the entire request path: AI/backend, Node/TypeScript services, and a React streaming UI on a modern SSR framework.

You will design system-wide architecture, own the service layer, and contribute frontend work when needed, delivering interactive charts, documents, and streaming experiences at global scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend/backend technologies.
• Experience with React and SSR frameworks and streaming interfaces.
• Experience designing scalable, API-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design across the whole system: AI/backend, service layer, and UI boundaries.
• Build on the backend and AI layer, manage streaming, latency, and persistence.
• Own the Node backend-for-frontend and ensure a type-safe contract between client and server.
• Ship UI with a streaming, chat-style interface in React on a modern SSR framework.
• Provide technical guidance, review designs, and mentor teammates.
• Handle long-running, asynchronous work with streaming state and reconnection logic.
• Write tests and instrument systems using logs and traces.
• Collaborate with product/design/engineering and contribute to architecture decisions.
