Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer 4 (Manager, IC) in McLean, VA to lead diverse technology projects within Risk Tech. You will work on distributed microservices, cloud-based solutions, and AI-enabled tools that strengthen risk management and empower millions of customers.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and set standards for design, development, and operations while influencing long-term technology strategy in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• 7+ years of experience coding with more than two of the listed languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in internal & external technology communities.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Define service boundaries and reusable frameworks with architects to guide development.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement and reduce technical debt.
