Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full Stack Engineer 4 (Manager IC) in Risk Tech to drive a portfolio of critical technology projects and guide a team of developers in distributed microservices and full-stack systems. You will mentor peers, adopt new technologies, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that support risk management and regulatory needs.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration with product managers, and hands-on work with modern cloud tools and open-source frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with emerging tech trends.
Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that drive user experiences.
Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and set coding standards.
Partner with architects to define service boundaries and reusable frameworks.
