Job summary

Lower is building technology to power digital mortgage, home finance, automation, and AI-powered experiences across the homeownership journey. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll design scalable systems, solve complex problems, and collaborate with Product, Design, QA and partners to deliver reliable software that enhances how people experience homeownership.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong fundamentals, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering role with strong fundamentals and sound technical judgment.
• Comfortable across modern technologies and learning new frameworks as needed.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own meaningful features from discovery through deployment and production support.
• Mentor and guide other engineers through design discussions and code reviews.
• Promote readability and maintainability through thoughtful code reviews.
• Collaborate with engineers, Product, Design and QA to meet customer and technical needs.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and debt early and propose solutions.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for systems and designs.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, workflows, tooling, and system quality.
