What you’ll do

• Own our Rails monolith & services. Design, build, and refactor core APIs that ingest thousands of video interviews per hour.
• Stand up & tune AWS infrastructure. From VPC-to-Lambda, ECS-backed services, EventBridge pipelines, to zero-downtime blue/green deployments.
• Level-up DevOps. Automate CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Terraform, instrument logs & metrics, and champion a “you build it, you run it” culture.
• Go full-stack when needed. Add React/TypeScript features to our recruiter console, craft delightful React Native screens for our candidate app, and wire everything to GraphQL endpoints.
• Pair with our AI team. Integrate LLM-driven scoring, real-time transcription, and candidate-feedback modules straight into the product.
• Shape engineering culture. Mentor mid-level devs, improve tests and docs, and keep security & compliance top of mind as we scale.
  

The skill set we’re after

Must-have experience

• Ruby on Rails (3–7 years). Rails powers our assessment engine and admin dashboards.
• AWS expertise. Comfortable with EC2/ECS or EKS, RDS/Postgres, S3, IAM, EventBridge/Lambda—you know how to keep video-heavy workloads fast and cost-efficient.
• DevOps chops. Docker, Terraform or CDK, CI pipelines, observability; you’ve lived “infrastructure as code” and frequent deployments.
• Modern JavaScript/TypeScript plus React or React Native. Our web and mobile experiences should feel seamless to hiring teams and candidates alike.
• Strong testing habits & pragmatic security mindset. Enterprise customers trust us with sensitive candidate data; you help us earn that trust daily.
• Clear, candid communicator who enjoys pairing and code reviews. We iterate fast and keep meetings light—great async collaboration is essential.

Nice-to-haves

• Video processing (FFmpeg, WebRTC) or real-time transcription pipelines
• Postgres partitioning, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, or Redis streams
• Prior work in HRTech, recruiting, or high-compliance SaaS (SOC 2, GDPR, etc.)
