Job summary

AssetWatch, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help build and enhance our cloud-based IoT SaaS platform. You will work across frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend on AWS, focusing on scalable, observable solutions and secure development practices.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture decisions, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate planning, implementation, and testing while ensuring quality and security.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience delivering React web applications with backend integration.
  • Hands-on with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, ECS).
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiar with CI/CD, testing, and security best practices.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and code reviews.

Responsibilities

The Full-Stack Engine er partners with a cross-functional team to build out new cloud application features and optimize and improve existing features. You will build and evolve AssetWatch’s industrial IoT SaaS platform using Node JS, React, TypeScript, AWS serverless technologies, event-driven services, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-assisted development across frontend, backend, and APIs.

HIGH-LEVEL POSITION EXPECTATIONS

Senior engineers are expected to take on complex development tasks and mayleadparts of projects. They contribute significantly todesign and architectureand mentor junior engineers.

  • Technical Experience – Strong technical experienceto design,develop, andmaintainhigh-quality solutions.
  • Problem Solving – Able to work independently onhighly complexprojects.Participate in tech planning including estimates.Work closely with P3 and P2 engineers providing technical guidance and support.
  • Process Improvement – Strong participation in process improvements including tools and standards.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing – Serve as a technical mentor for engineers to help enforce standards, support continuous learning, and knowledge management

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Develop new cloud application features including from React to AWS APIGatewayand Lambda/ECStodatabase.
  • Own technical solutions and feature improvements from design through production.
  • Design and implement scalable, observable technical solutions, including technical design documents, implementation plans, migration plans, and architecture decision records that help evolve application architecture and engineering standards.
  • Support production systems through monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
  • Support code deployment and continuous integration.
  • Build high-quality software through automated testing and thoughtful peer code reviews.
  • Mentor other engineers on effective and responsible use of agentic AI tools.
  • Help improve SDLC through tooling, automation, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate across teams to solve problems andmaintainclear API, event, and data contracts.
  • Continuously improve engineering best practices, coding standards, and shared technical patterns.
  • Use agentic AI tools toaccelerateplanning,implementation,debugging,testing,and documentation while exercising sound judgment.
  • Review andvalidateAI-assisted work to ensure quality, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience deliveringReact web applicationsintegrated withdatabases (MySQL, SQL Server).
  • Strong professional experience building production applications inTypeScriptand React.
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Experience building cloud-native applications onAWS (API Gateway, Lambda,ECS,CloudWatch, Datadog).
  • Practical understanding of secure software development, including authorization,secretsmanagement, least-privilege access, dependency risk, secure cloud development, and responsible handling of AI-assisted code.
  • Hands-on experience using agentic, AI-assisted development tools with sound judgment about when and how to direct them, including awareness of risks such as sensitive data exposure, insecure generated code, hallucinated output, excessive agency, and overreliance; able to apply appropriate human review, testing, and validation before merge or deployment.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking and source control such as Jira/GitHub.
  • Experience improving application performance, reliability, scalability, and cloud cost efficiency.
  • Experience with Python, UX, andadditionalAWS tools is a nice bonus.

The base salary range for this full-time position is posted below, plus equity and benefits. Variable pay, bonuses, and other cash compensation will be discussed throughout the interview process.

The salary range was determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
