Job summary

TCG, Inc. is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our IT solutions team serving the Federal government.

The ideal candidate will have extensive .NET web development experience on Windows, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, and a strong record of delivering secure, scalable software. US citizenship and the ability to pass a federal clearance are required; occasional onsite meetings in Washington, DC are expected.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years in software development, including .NET web apps on Windows with Angular.
• At least 2 years as a senior full stack developer.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript in an agile team.
• Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Azure DevOps or SonarQube.
• Experience writing SQL for RDBMS such as MySQL, MS SQL Server, or Postgres.
• Troubleshooting and debugging using logs, debuggers, and Chrome dev tools.
• Familiarity with web security best practices (OWASP Top 10).

Responsibilities

• Support and guide full stack development for .NET apps, aligning with sprint plans.
• Report status to Project Manager and contribute to project plans and risk management.
• Contribute to PI planning, roadmaps, sprint planning, reviews, and demos.
• Frontend JavaScript development.
• Ensure product security and respond to security-related issues.
• Provide production support as needed.
• Maintain and document software functionality.
• Analyze code to identify risks and fix issues.
• Attend and facilitate agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with PM/PO to prototype and debug programs.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices and process improvements.
• Address performance bottlenecks.

Job description

US Citizenship and the ability to pass a Federal government clearance check are required for this position.

This position will require the candidate to attend occasional onsite meetings. The selected candidate must live within a commuting distance of Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and guide full stack development/product activities for .NET custom applications, including updates to each sprint on the development roadmap based on the Product Owner's feedback and preparation for sprint activities (e.g. review of user stories)
• Report sprint, release, and project status to the Project Manager and provide input on project plans, schedules, and risk management.
• Contribute to Product Increment (PI) planning, product roadmap development, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and product demonstrations.
• Front end JavaScript development
• Ensures the security of products and responding to security-related issues and requests
• Production support on systems of responsibility as needed
• Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality
• Conduct proactive code analysis to find sources of risk, causes of errors and revise programs as needed
• Attends and sometimes facilitates agile ceremonies
• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes new user needs to determine technical requirements, including testing approach and criteria
• Consults with the PM and Product Owner as needed to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs
• Keeps up-to-date with best practices and skills
• Responsible for continuous technical process improvement and adherence to industry standard practices
• Identifies, anticipates, and addresses performance bottlenecks
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience working in a software development environment that includes:
  • At least 5 years of experience developing .NET web applications on a Windows platform using the Angular+ framework
  • At least 2 years of experience as senior full stack developer
• Experience with JavaScript/Typescript Development within an agile team environment
• Experience with DevSecOps tools including Azure DevOps, SonarQube, or similar
• Experience writing SQL for RDBMS such as MySQL, MS SQL Server, or Postgres
• Troubleshooting skills and experience such as reviewing logs, attaching a debugger, use of Chrome developer tools
• Comfortable with web security best practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10)
• Independent problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, creativity, and clear appreciation of end customer needs
• The ability to prioritize and organize efforts in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates excellent grammar and spelling in written communication and ability to produce clear technical documentation

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Python

• Git and Azure DevOps source code management
• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose and Docker orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes)
• Experience with Kendo UI solutions such as Kendo Grids
• Microsoft Azure or AWS technical certifications

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology or related preferred), 4 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Salary: $140,000-$160,000 commensurate with experience as judged through the interview process.
