Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a senior Digital Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Operations & Technology team in Irving, TX.

The role focuses on designing and delivering scalable financial applications, aligning with Citi’s architectural roadmap, and driving modern development practices within a global bank. Ideal candidates will bring 5+ years of cloud, microservices, Kubernetes, and Java experience, plus strong test automation and collaboration across distributed teams.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud computing, microservices/APIs, and private cloud platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry or OpenShift.
SpringBoot, RESTful services, and JSON experience is required.
3+ years with Kubernetes and Docker in containerized environments.
3+ years on Cloud Platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines and config as code.
3+ years with Java, HTML5/CSS3, AngularJS; Android/iOS development experience is a plus.
3+ years with NoSql DB (MongoDB, Couchbase) or Oracle DB.
Experience with service discovery and resiliency tools like Hystrix/Resilience4J.
GenAI tools are desirable.
Familiar with Git/Bitbucket for source control; Jenkins for builds.
Automation: JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, Appium, Cucumber.
Experience across the Software Development Lifecycle and deployments.
Test and Behavior Driven Development experience.
Strong communication, analytical and leadership abilities.
Agile/Hybrid experience; financial industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business partners to analyze user stories for clarity and feasibility.
Translate user stories into solutions aligning with the architectural roadmap.
Tackle challenging POCs with new technology in a fast-paced environment.
Prepare detailed technical designs focusing on security, resiliency, scalability, and performance.
Code, test, debug, implement, and support complex financial applications.
Collaborate with onshore/offshore resources and ensure process adherence.
Stay updated on emerging Digital technologies.
Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual tests for validation, regression, performance, and usability.
Implement Test and Behavior Driven Development as part of Shift-Left strategy.
Ensure SDLC artifacts: SIA, code reviews, test plans and exit reports.
Manage multiple priorities and adapt to fast-paced changes.
Provide estimates for task duration, effort, and dependencies with confidence levels.
Monitor project progress, risk/issue management, and quality controls to meet deadlines.
Advocate for best customer experience of product quality within the SDLC.
