Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Full-stack Engineer 5 on the Associate Experience team in New York, NY. You will act as the technical anchor for the agentic orchestration layer, enabling AI agents to be composed, sequenced, and operated within Capital One's marketing initiatives.

In this high-impact role, you will lead diverse projects, mentor engineers, and drive platform roadmaps while delivering scalable cloud-based solutions using Java, Scala, Python, Go, and modern JS frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
• 9+ years of coding experience in Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Scala.
• 5+ years contributing to open source frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with front-end JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
• 4+ years of experience with databases and cloud-based tooling.
• 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and virtualization tech.
• 4+ years of experience with CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other members of the engineering community and stay current with tech trends.
• Collaborate with product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple teams, shaping system architecture and long-term direction.
• Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native systems.
• Partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and shared services strategy.
