Job summary

Experis is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to modernize a regulatory filing platform. You will build Angular frontends, Spring Boot backends, and AWS cloud-native services while adopting AI-assisted development practices.

The role targets senior engineers with 7+ years of experience, on-site work three days a week in Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA, on a contract basis. This position emphasizes reliability, security, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Strong OO programming with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands-on AWS cloud services experience.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and source control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern Angular applications and micro-frontends.
• Build scalable Java Spring Boot services and REST APIs.
• Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway).
• Create and support complex data collection and validation workflows.
• Implement responsive, accessible interfaces and ensure usability.
• Contribute to modernization and long-term technical strategy.
• Lead microservices-based architectures and schema-driven capabilities.
• Collaborate across teams to identify dependencies and reduce delivery risk.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; perform code reviews and promote best practices.
• Champion testing, automation, and observability; lead production issue troubleshooting.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and build reusable automation.
• Develop AI-assisted workflows for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
