Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Fuel Systems Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain fuel dispensers, underground storage tanks, leak detection, and vapor recovery units across multiple retail locations. You will install upgrades and perform preventive maintenance, ensuring strict regulatory compliance and accurate record-keeping.

The role requires field-based independence, strong troubleshooting, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fuel system service experience (3–5 years)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain fuel dispensers, underground storage tanks (USTs), leak detection systems, and vapor recovery units.
• Install and upgrade fueling equipment and related technology
• Perform preventive maintenance and compliance inspections

Job description

• Install and upgrade fueling equipment and related technology


• Perform preventive maintenance and compliance inspections

Requirements

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing fuel systems


• Experience working independently in field-based service environments


• High school diploma or GED


• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record


• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently


• Willingness to travel between store locations


• Technical certification or vocational training (preferred)


• Experience with fuel systems in retail, convenience store, or commercial fueling environments (preferred)


• Familiarity with Veeder-Root, Gilbarco, and Wayne systems (preferred)


• OSHA and/or HAZMAT certification (preferred)


• 5+ years of fuel systems experience for senior-level roles (preferred)


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather


• On-call availability for emergency or after-hours service as needed
