Job summary

Protingent Staffing in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Fuel Performance Engineer to develop high-fidelity models of TRISO fuel and to perform transient simulations, including LOFC events. You will translate complex results into licensing inputs and experiments, driving V&V of fuel codes like BISON.

The role requires 8+ years in fuel-performance or related modeling, leadership, and experience with Siemens Teamcenter for documentation and data management.

Qualifications

8+ years in fuel-performance or multiphysics modeling with leadership experience.
Experience operating PLM systems (Siemens Teamcenter) for documentation.
Familiarity with TRISO fuel behavior and materials interactions.
Experience using irradiation histories and PIE data for model calibration.

Responsibilities

Develop high-fidelity computational models of fuel behavior from TRISO particles to fuel blocks.
Execute thermal and mechanical simulations for steady-state and LOFC scenarios.
Translate modeling outputs into inputs for irradiation experiments and licensing docs.
Lead verification and validation of fuel performance codes (e.g., BISON).
Ensure QA compliance by anchoring workflows within Siemens Teamcenter.
Link manufacturing attributes, irradiation conditions, PIE, and safety-test results to licensing inputs.
