Job summary

Planet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of the GMS App frontend. You will design and implement frontend features using React and TypeScript, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver impactful solutions, with a focus on near-real-time monitoring of customer-defined sites.

This full-time, remote role is based in the United States; if located near an office, you may work from that office 3 days per week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of web app development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• Proficiency with React and component-based architecture.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Ability to lead feature implementation from discovery through deployment.
• Mentor teammates on Front End best practices.
• Proficient English; strong communication.
• Experience with REST APIs and responsive design.
• Experience with state management and data fetching.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement frontend features.
• Develop frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to backend systems and APIs as needed, with a focus on frontend ownership.
• Drive architectural decisions impacting the frontend, including component design and state management patterns.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver solutions.
