Job summary

Bluehost is hiring a senior frontend engineer to architect and deliver high-performance, production-grade UI using React, Redux, and TypeScript. You will integrate AI-powered features, ensure performance and reliability, and collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ship features rapidly.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience building scalable web apps, deep React/TypeScript expertise, and familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and design systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and shipping modern, production-grade web apps at scale.
• Strong expertise in React, Redux and TypeScript with solid JS, HTML5 and CSS3 fundamentals.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest/Cypress) and maintaining design systems.

• Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to ship features quickly while upholding quality
• Set frontend engineering standards across squads and mentor mid-level and junior engineers
• Drive continuous delivery, shipping iteratively against real user feedback

What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make Your Mark

• Architect and build high-performance, production-grade UI in React, Redux (or similar state management), and TypeScript
• Use AI across the delivery lifecycle, not just code generation, and set the guardrails the team works inside: how generated code gets reviewed, how provenance and licensing are checked, and what customer data may enter a prompt
• Design and build front-end interfaces that integrate AI-powered features, such as chat, content generation, and smart recommendations
• Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of high-traffic, customer-facing applications, from bundle size to render performance
• Partner closely with product, design, and backend engineers to take features from concept to production quickly, without sacrificing quality
• Set and enforce frontend engineering standards: component reuse, design-system consistency, testing coverage, and code review rigor across both squads
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers on architecture decisions, debugging technique, and modern React patterns
• Drive continuous delivery practices, shipping iteratively against real user feedback instead of large, infrequent releases

Who You Are & What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 5+ years building and shipping modern, production-grade web applications at scale
• Deep expertise in React, Redux/modern state management, and TypeScript, with strong JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 fundamentals
• AI-augmented delivery: you use AI across the delivery lifecycle, not just code generation, and can say which models suit which problems and where you don’t use them. You review AI-generated code knowing its failure modes, and you have set the guardrails others work inside — review expectations for generated code, provenance and licensing checks, and clear boundaries for what customer data enters a prompt and what a security or compliance review will ask for.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and working within microservices-based architectures
• Comfortable with testing frameworks (Jest/Cypress) and building or maintaining component libraries and design systems
• Track record of owning technical outcomes end-to-end in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where speed and craft both matter
• Bonus: Next.js experience and prior work integrating LLM-powered or AI-driven product features
