Job summary

Tennr in New York is seeking a Senior UI/UX Engineer to drive a world-class user experience for Tennr’s flagship application. You will develop with React and TypeScript, focusing on performance, accessibility, and delightful interfaces that customers love.

Based in our Hudson Square office (4 days/week on-site), you’ll collaborate with design, frontend, and product teams, take ownership from concept to completion, and help scale our platform while delivering high-quality, pixel-perfect results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in UI/UX engineering, front-end web development, or full-stack development with React/TypeScript.
• Strong front-end performance & accessibility knowledge.
• Passion for design and user experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and clean coding practices.
• Experience using AI tools for prototyping and development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Startup or fast-paced tech experience is a plus.

Role Description

Responsibilities

• Drive a world-class user experience for Tennr’s flagship application, bringing efficiency, reliability, and delight to Tennr’s customers
• Be the standard bearer for application usability and accessibility with the UX Designers and UX Engineers
• Drive client architecture decisions for our complex React app
• Work with design on user research processes and programs to help the team understand and empathize with customer user personas, including back office admins, referring healthcare providers, and patients, to channel their needs and perspectives into product design.
• Take ownership over visual quality — whether executing pixel-perfect designs with precision or leveraging strong design intuition to navigate and resolve ambiguity
• Embrace a founder's mindset, proactively driving projects from conception to completion, and contributing significantly to our company's growth and success

Candidate Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UI/UX engineering, front-end web development, or full-stack development, with a strong proficiency with React and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of front-end performance optimizations and accessibility principles.
• Passion for great design and user experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a knack for efficient, clean coding practices.
• Experience utilizing AI tools for prototyping and development.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• A team player who thrives in collaborative environments and values diverse perspectives.
• Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment is a plus.

Compensation Range: $190K - $215K
