Project Overview

Join the dynamic team to enhance the web presence of charting products by bringing unique options presentations that are currently supported in Excel environment to the Web. This project involves utilizing the existing APIs to recreate complex financial charts and visualizations such as implied volatility indexes, term structures, and various derivatives metrics using HighCharts with PHP8 backend.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate financial plotting capabilities on our website, similar to those available in the existing Excel product, by leveraging our existing APIs and HighCharts.
• Work independently on the frontend development while ensuring the new features are seamlessly integrated with the existing website architecture, potentially operating as standalone modules.
• Design and implement visually engaging and highly interactive web components to display financial data like risk reversals, skew by delta, butterflies, and gamma levels.
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability while ensuring all data visualizations are accurate and effectively presented.
• Collaborate with backend developers, data scientists, and financial analysts to ensure system consistency and improve user experience.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and advocate for their adoption where feasible to enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

• Extensive experience and familiarity with modern client-side frameworks (Angular, VueJS, or React).
• Demonstrated experience with HighCharts or similar libraries for complex data visualizations.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating frontend components with backend systems.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and other core web technologies.
• Experience in building Single Page Applications (SPAs) and integrating frontend with various backend technologies.
• Proficient in using modern development tools and environments like npm/Yarn, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other developers.

The following experience will be considered as an advantage:

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience with TypeScript or Flow, and familiarity with current trends in ECMAScript and frontend development.
• Knowledge of software testing, continuous integration, and deployment strategies using tools like Jest, Enzyme, Testing-library, GitLab CI, Docker, or Webpack.
• Interest in financial markets or experience with financial data visualization would be highly regarded.
