Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Principal Front End Engineer based in the United States. This senior leadership role focuses on defining frontend architecture, tooling, and standards across multiple teams and applications, while balancing user needs and technical constraints.

You will mentor engineers, drive accessibility and performance improvements, and collaborate with product, design, and back-end leaders to deliver scalable web applications for government and mission-critical users in a fully remote

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise architecting modern web apps at scale using React and/or Angular.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and web platform APIs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive frontend engineering practices, architecture, tooling, standards, and capabilities across the organization.
• Lead architecture and development of scalable, accessible, performant web applications with WCAG compliance.
• Design and implement frontend architectures, build systems, workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain shared component libraries, design systems, and reusable frontend infrastructure.
• Champion engineering excellence through best practices for mobile-first development, testing, performance, accessibility, code quality, and maintainability.
• Modernize frontend technology stacks and lead initiatives that improve quality and developer experience.
• Establish automated testing strategies spanning unit, component, and end-to-end testing, including accessibility checks in CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with product managers and designers to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
