Job summary

Walmart is seeking an experienced Front-end Architect to lead the design of scalable, high-traffic web experiences in Sunnyvale, CA. You'll champion architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, UX, backend, and data teams to drive reliable, accessible software.

You will build with React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS, set engineering standards, and guide end-to-end delivery from discovery through production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related field with 4 years of software engineering experience.
• 6 years of software engineering experience in related area.
• Strong experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Experience with REST API design; GraphQL is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead architecture discussions and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion front-end architecture for scalable, high-traffic experiences.
• Build high-quality web experiences with React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Shape cross-team technical strategy with Product, UX, backend, platform, and data teams.
• Set and evolve engineering standards for components, state, API, testing, and observability.
• Design for retail scale, evaluate emerging tech, prototype, and identify risks early.
• Provide organization-level technical leadership; lead reviews and mentor engineers.
• Own end-to-end delivery from discovery to production support.
