Job summary
Walmart in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead backend engineering for a multi-tenant Last Mile platform serving Walmart International markets. In this role you will provide technical leadership in designing scalable, resilient services and establish reusable architectural patterns.
Focus is on building top‑tier distributed systems using modern backend technologies, microservices, and DevOps practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related field and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Responsibilities
- Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
- Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver products.
- Work with Distinguished & Principal Architects and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
