Job summary

Base is seeking a senior/frontend leader to drive the customer experience across web and mobile. You will set frontend architecture and technical direction, align with product and design, and own major surfaces end-to-end.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate on APIs and data models, and help ship fast, reliable software that millions rely on in homes across the country. This role is anchored in a hands-on, in-person Austin team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building production frontend or full-stack software.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and modern web frameworks such as React or Next.js.
• Strong experience designing frontend architecture for complex web applications.
• Track record of owning products or platforms from concept through launch and iteration.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend development of the customer experience across Base web and mobile applications.
• Set frontend architecture and technical strategy across multiple product surfaces and define patterns, tooling, and standards.
• Own major product surfaces end-to-end from concept through production and iteration.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design APIs and data models that support features.
• Partner with product and design to shape the roadmap and improve frontend engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for frontend craft across the team.
• Act as a technical lead on cross-team initiatives and frontend architecture decisions.
