Job summary

AmaWaterways seeks a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend to provide senior technical leadership across consumer and partner digital platforms. You will own frontend architecture, drive performance, and mentor engineers using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.

In collaboration with Product, UX/UI, QA, and backend teams, you will shape standards, design systems, and scalable web experiences for AmaWaterways' global ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
• Eight+ years of professional software engineering experience with frontend leadership.
• Proven experience leading architecture and delivery of large-scale React/Next.js apps in production.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for frontend development within an application engineering scrum team, owning frontend architectural direction and technical backlog prioritization.
• Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise-scale web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and related frontend technologies.
• Drive the implementation of scalable, maintainable frontend platforms supporting consumer booking and guest experiences.
• Establish and enforce frontend engineering standards related to code quality, accessibility, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Design and implement advanced Next.js solutions using SSR, SSG, ISR and modern data-fetching patterns.
• Own and evolve frontend architecture, component libraries, design system, and reusable development frameworks.
• Lead technical design reviews and produce architecture diagrams, system designs, and engineering decision records.
• Collaborate with UX/UI to translate customer journeys into accessible, responsive experiences.
• Develop and maintain integration with backend services via RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
• Lead implementation and optimization of Builder.io-powered experiences and content models.
• Optimize applications for Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility, and user experience.
