Job summary

Bitwarden Inc. is seeking a Senior Front End Software Engineer for the Vault team. This role is fully remote in the United States, with no visa sponsorship offered at this time.

You will shape front-end architecture and UX at scale, ensuring reliability and performance across devices and platforms. You’ll primarily work with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS, contributing to Bitwarden’s open-source ecosystem and collaborating with a global remote team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS for front-end development.
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex problems.
• Experience with relational database design, optimization, and SQL Server is a strong plus.
• Experience with Rust for cross-platform SDK development is a strong plus.
• Collaborative and adaptable mindset.
• Openness and authenticity with excellent communication skills.
• Excitement for open source and internet security.
• Excellent problem-solving skills – you know how to find and communicate the solution.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to break down and implement new features.
• Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and well-documented code.
• Take ownership and coordinate with QA to ensure tests cover the app.
• Establish standards for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Identify technical debt and work to minimize it.
• Review PRs and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with the open-source community to review contributions on GitHub.
