Zusammenfassung

SAIC seeks a Front-End Specialist to design accessible, high-performing user interfaces presenting products to Congress and the public. You will deliver responsive UIs with HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript (ES6+), working with React or Angular, and integrate with REST/JSON APIs.

You will contribute to Drupal-based sites, build reusable components, ensure WCAG 2.x compliance, and collaborate with back-end and Information Management teams while mentoring junior developers and improving processes.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field; 4 years experience in lieu accepted.
• 8+ years front-end/UI development experience.
• Expert HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Strong React and/or Angular with API integration
• Experience building and consuming REST/JSON APIs
• Experience with responsive design and build tools (npm, Webpack, Vite)
• Strong understanding of Section 508 / WCAG accessibility
• Experience with Drupal theming (Twig) or other CMS front ends
• Experience with UX/UI tools and Google Analytics
• Basic PHP knowledge, and experience in federal government web environments

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Front-End Specialist to design and build accessible, high-performing user interfaces that present published products and content to Congress and the public. The ideal candidate will bring strong modern JavaScript framework experience and a commitment to accessibility and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive, accessible user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
• Integrate front-end applications with back-end services through REST/JSON APIs
• Develop and maintain themes and front-end components for Drupal-based and other CMS-driven websites
• Build reusable component libraries and enforce consistent design and coding standards
• Ensure all front-end deliverables comply with Section 508 and WCAG 2.x requirements, using automated and manual accessibility testing
• Optimize page performance, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness
• Write unit and end-to-end tests and participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and security scanning
• Collaborate with back-end developers, Information Management staff, and stakeholders to translate requirements into user-friendly solutions
• Mentor junior developers and recommend front-end tools, frameworks, and best practices
• Follow documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend improvements to repeatable processes
• Collaborate with Information Management staff, system developers, QA, and security teams to ensure accurate flow of data and metadata across system environments

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (4 years experience in lieu of degree)
• ~8+ years of related experience in front-end or UI development
• ~ Expert proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• ~ Strong experience with React and/or Angular, including state management and API integration
• ~ Experience building and consuming REST/JSON APIs
• ~ Experience with responsive design, CSS preprocessors, and build tools (npm, Webpack, Vite)
• ~ Strong understanding of Section 508 / WCAG accessibility standards and assistive technology testing (e.g., Experience with front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Familiarity with secure coding practices
• Experience with Drupal theming (Twig) or other CMS front ends
• Experience with UX/UI design tools (e.g., Experience with Google Analytics or similar tools
• Basic PHP knowledge
• Experience in federal or government web environments
