Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Freight and Logistics Senior Manager to support statewide and regional rail and freight planning, documentation, and storytelling. The role emphasizes plan development, analysis, and clear communication to public-sector clients.

You will author, edit, and synthesize complex material for public audiences, coordinating inputs from multiple disciplines while guiding plan structure and messaging across projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience (including grad research)
• Degree in urban/regional planning, public policy, economics, geography, or related field
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling for public-sector audiences
• Experience contributing to state rail or statewide freight plans
• Familiarity with freight systems, supply chains, and rail operations
• Experience coordinating inputs from multiple technical disciplines
• Experience using GIS to support planning, analysis, and visual communication
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of freight data sources and analytical outputs

Responsibilities

• Support state DOTs, rail agencies, MPOs, and other public-sector clients in planning documents and policies
• Lead technical writing and content integration across multi-author plans
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on freight networks and supply chains
• Synthesize data from public sources into clear narratives and briefings
• Analyze freight system and supply chain trends for decision-making
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on plan structure and messaging
• Prepare presentations, executive briefs, and public-facing materials
• Support marketing and business development efforts
