Job summary

Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) Engineering seeks a Senior Optical Communications Engineer to design and deliver free-space optical links for satellite constellation and ground segments. You will work with cross-functional teams on system requirements, hardware and software integration, and real-time communication performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience designing and developing optical systems.
• 4+ years experience with free space optical communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define optical communication system requirements and architecture for our satellite constellation.
• Develop and optimise optical communication system hardware and software components for real-time communication.
• Implement and test product designs that demonstrate functional and performance capabilities.
• Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends to enhance system performance.
