Gusto is seeking a Senior Fraud Investigations Analyst to independently conduct the most complex fraud investigations across account takeover, payment fraud, and identity theft. You will use investigative expertise, OSS data, and AI-enabled tools to identify root causes, assess risk, and document findings.

As part of the Fraud Investigations team, you will surface emerging threats, coordinate with Risk and Compliance, and mentor junior analysts while driving enhancements to AI-assisted workflows

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fraud investigations or similarly complex investigative work in financial services/FinTech.
• Strong investigative writing and analytical skills to document complex patterns and assess risk.
• Experience across fraud typologies including account takeover, business email compromise, identity theft, payments fraud, and social engineering.

Responsabilités

• Independently analyze account activity, transactional behavior, authentication data, and external sources to surface fraud indicators and build narratives.
• Synthesize findings into case narratives and prepare Unusual Activity Referrals (UARs) for partners when appropriate.
• Assist customers impacted by fraud and coordinate with external banking partners on fund recovery.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate triage and evidence gathering, validating outputs for accuracy and policy alignment.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to improve detection and tooling.
• Mentor junior analysts on fraud typology identification and case narrative quality.
