Job summary

Suncoast Credit Union is seeking a Senior Digital Threat Analyst to protect digital banking channels from fraud and evolving cyber threats. You will analyze complex patterns, conduct digital forensics, and guide other analysts while balancing security with a positive member experience.

The role requires 5+ years in fraud detection or cyber threat analysis, proficiency with Alloy/ThreatMetrix, and a strong data analysis capability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in fraud detection, digital banking security, or cyber threat analysis.
  • Experience with fraud prevention tools such as Alloy, Verafin, ThreatMetrix, or similar platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of fraud patterns.
  • Understanding of online banking systems, authentication protocols, and risk scoring models.
  • Ability to use Excel, or other tools for data extraction and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review digital banking logins and transactions for indicators of high-risk activity using Alloy and other tools.
  • Analyze online and transactional behaviors to identify emerging threats and patterns across digital channels.
  • Perform digital forensics and device analysis using Alloy and ThreatMetrix to reduce losses.
  • Use data analytics to detect fraud trends and provide insights to reduce losses.
  • Monitor online activity trends and recommend new account parameters or control adjustments.
  • Conduct link analysis on referrals and Alloy Attack Radar alerts to uncover fraud rings and synthetic identities.
  • Recommend parameter and tool adjustments to address evolving threats.
  • Help develop and update procedures aligned with best practices and regulations.
  • Measure and QA routine tasks and reports to stay effective against fraud trends.
  • Act as SME for digital threat detection, guiding and mentoring analysts.
  • Collaborate with leadership on Fraud Risk Management and digital security projects.
  • Keep current on industry trends, laws, and threats through ongoing education.
  • Complete annual compliance and information security training.

The Senior Digital Threat Analyst is responsible for protecting digital banking channels from fraud and emerging cyber threats. This role focuses on advanced detection and analysis of suspicious online activity, leveraging data-driven insights and industry-leading tools to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risk. The analyst will investigate complex fraud patterns, conduct digital forensics, and recommend enhancements to security controls. Acting as a subject matter expert, this position provides guidance to other analysts, collaborates on strategic initiatives, and ensures that fraud prevention measures are balanced with a positive member experience. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of fraud trends, and the ability to adapt to evolving threats in a fast‑paced environment.


Responsibilities


  • Review digital banking logins and transactional activity for indicators of suspicious or high-risk behavior using manual reports, Alloy, and other fraud detection tools.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of online and transactional behaviors to identify emerging threats, fraud patterns, and vulnerabilities across digital channels.

  • Perform digital forensics and device analysis using Alloy and ThreatMetrix to proactively mitigate potential fraud losses.

  • Leverage data analytics to research, detect, and interpret fraud trends, providing actionable insights to reduce losses and strengthen security measures.

  • Monitor and analyze trends in online activity to recommend new account parameters or adjustments to existing controls.

  • Conduct link analysis on department referrals and Alloy Attack Radar alerts to uncover organized fraud rings, identity theft, and synthetic identity schemes.

  • Make recommendations for parameter adjustments and tool enhancements to address evolving fraud tactics and dynamic threats.

  • Assist in developing and updating procedures, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Measure, evaluate, and perform quality assurance on routine tasks and reports to maintain effectiveness and responsiveness to fraud trends.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for digital threat detection, providing guidance and mentorship to other analysts.

  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic projects related to Fraud Risk Management and digital security initiatives.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, laws, and emerging threats through continuous education and professional development.

  • Complete annual compliance and information security training to uphold organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Advanced ability to identify anomalies and trends in large datasets.

  • Skilled in conducting link analysis and investigating organized fraud rings.

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Cyber Crime Investigator (CCCI), or similar preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines

  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management

  • Affinity for solving complex problems, comfortable with ambiguous situations, and innovative ways to mitigate fraud risk

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
