Job summary

K2 Space Corporation is seeking a Senior FPGA & Silicon Bring-up Engineer to accelerate next-gen ASICs. You will own FPGA prototyping, firmware enablement, first-silicon bring-up, and hardware validation, bridging ASIC design, firmware, software, and systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years FPGA development using Verilog/SystemVerilog and FPGA tooling.
• Strong understanding of ASIC development and digital system architecture.
• FPGA prototyping for ASIC development.
• Firmware/software enablement and hardware bring-up.
• Strong debugging skills using JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
• Proficiency with Python for automation and test infra.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA-based prototypes to enable early ASIC integration and system validation.
• Build hardware platforms for software/firmware teams to develop before first silicon.
• Support first-silicon bring-up, debug, and functional validation.
• Develop automated validation infrastructure for silicon characterization and regression testing.
• Configure and validate high-speed interfaces (Ethernet SerDes, SPI, UART, GPIO).
• Create FPGA-based traffic generators and protocol checkers for interface validation.
• Debug RTL, firmware, software, FPGA prototypes, and silicon using lab instruments.
• Collaborate with ASIC Design, Verification, Firmware, Software, Systems and DFT teams.
