Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC in Austin, TX seeks a Senior FPGA Engineer to own FPGA development for advanced embedded platforms. You will translate system requirements into architectures, lead implementation, and drive verification with hardware and software teams to deliver high-reliability products.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of FPGA design and development experience.
• Experience interfacing FPGAs with RF converters using LVDS, JESD204B/C, or RFSoC.
• Hands-on with AMD/Xilinx Vivado and high-speed FPGA design.
• Strong VHDL and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Ownership of the FPGA development lifecycle: architecture, requirements, implementation, simulation, verification.
• Timing constraints and timing closure expertise.
• Experience with DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, multi-gigabit Ethernet, or JESD204B/C.
• Experience implementing high-speed serial IP.
• Experience supporting FPGA/DSP carrier boards, FMC/RF converter modules, SBCs, or similar products.
• Vivado Simulator and ILAs familiarity.
• Experience with Intel/ARM interfaces, DDR memory, MPSoC, or RFSoC.
• Ability to review schematics with hardware engineers.
• Leadership, independent problem solving, and ownership of deliverables.
• Proficiency in TCL, Python, C/C++, and Embedded Linux.
• Willingness to work across hardware/software boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own FPGA development lifecycle from architecture to hardware validation.
• Translate system/customer requirements into FPGA architectures and lead implementation.
• Lead verification and collaborate with hardware/software teams to deliver reliable products.
• Apply expertise in high-speed digital design, FPGA IP, timing closure, and RF interfaces.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to advance new product development.
