Job summary

D-Wave Quantum Inc. is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to craft high-performance signal processing and real-time control systems that link quantum hardware with software.

You will design, implement, and verify SystemVerilog modules, and develop FPGA-based control and embedded software on AMD Xilinx Ultrascale+ platforms. You will work with quantum compiler engineers, RF hardware teams, and software engineers to shape architecture, write clean code, and manage a robust toolchain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in E.E. or comp eng; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years FPGA development with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Proficient Python for embedded systems.
• Embedded C programming for performant code.
• Experience with AMD Xilinx SoC (Ultrascale+) and mixed-signal processing.
• Strong Linux skills incl. driver development.
• Git, build tools, and CI/CD experience.
• Excellent collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, verify SystemVerilog modules for low-latency, high-bandwidth signal processing chains.
• Develop FPGA-based real-time control and signal processing on Ultrascale+ platforms.
• Contribute to architecture discussions with compiler engineers and RF designers.
• Develop embedded software and Linux device drivers, incl. Xilinx Pynq integration.
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Manage a complex toolchain and test/verification environment.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues; develop unit tests; collaborate across teams.
