Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks Principal Digital Engineer or Sr. Principal Digital Engineer in San Diego, CA, to lead digital designs for state‑of‑the‑art software‑defined radios and related test equipment. The role requires hands‑on FPGA design using VHDL, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Government Secret clearance. Work is conducted in our Advanced Digital Design labs near the Southern California coast. Two levels exist: Principal and Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD path with FPGA design/verification experience.
• Hands-on VHDL design, verification, and testing of FPGAs.
• Experience with EDA tools for FPGA development (Vivado/Quartus/Questa).

Responsibilities

• Design digital blocks for software-defined radios and related test equipment.
• Collaborate on board or system level debug using standard test equipment.
• Contribute to independent task completion and team success.
