Job summary

Shoe Carnival, based in Fort Mill, SC, seeks a Director of FP&A to lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. This role partners with the executive team and reports to a VP to drive performance and support decisions.

The position is full-time and located at our Fort Mill headquarters. The transformation includes rebanner initiatives, pursuing M&A to become a leading family footwear retailer, and building a new finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 8+ years FP&A experience with at least 3 in leadership.
• Public company and retail experience preferred.
• Experience building financial models for M&A or strategic initiatives.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; familiarity with planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting cycles with operations and leadership.
• Develop monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for executives and Board.
• Build financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives, M&A, and capital investments.
• Analyze store-level performance, comp trends, and banner economics to inform decisions.
• Support due diligence, synergy modeling, and integration tracking for M&A.
• Prepare earnings guidance analysis and support investor relations with modeling.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards to track performance across the business.
• Partner with Accounting to align actual results with planning assumptions.
